Position Details

We are looking for a rockstar to lead and support our Human Resources department. This human resource manager will select, shape, and support a team of true professionals. They will manage full-cycle recruiting along with human resources operations such as benefits, payroll, and performance management for our growing organization.


  • Recruit, interview, create and execute offer letters, conduct background verifications, and onboard employees for success
  • Direct employee engagement through one-on-one check-ins and support
  • Evaluate and recommend updates to HR policies, programs, and practices to ensure compliance
  • Serve as liaison between supervisors and employees when resolving issues; also to give guidance to supervisors on addressing employee relations
  • Processes payroll and ensure timekeeping and payroll records are accurate
  • Oversee performance management program
  • Performs benefits administration to include enrollment processing for new hires/terms, open enrollment, and 401K
  • Establish and maintain employment records and reports
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws


  • You are skilled and excited about recruiting and it's evident
  • You have refined communication skills to effectively communicate with staff and candidates along with the ability to confidently represent NorthStar at community events
  • You are experienced in managing conflict and/or difficult conversations and advising supervisors in performance management
  • You have payroll and benefits experience, ADP preferred
  • You have a thorough knowledge of employment laws and compliance and you keep abreast of changes
  • You have excellent organizational skills, and you are able to pivot when required


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years in recruitment and general human resources management
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • 1-2 years experience processing payroll, timekeeping records, and reporting; investigating and resolving errors required
  • Employee relations experience that instills trust in all levels of staff and managers
  • Software knowledge to effectively manage employment records in ADP and other HR-related software.

SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - 78,000/yr
