NorthStar Transitions is a licensed and Joint Commission accredited drug and alcohol rehab center in the Boulder-Denver Colorado Metro Area. NorthStar Transitions works with male and female clients 18 and older suffering from addiction and substance use disorders.
NorthStar Transitions offers a full continuum of care from inpatient (residential) treatment through outpatient treatment. Most clients remain in the NorthStar Transitions continuum of care for 4-6 months.
NorthStar Transitions has two campuses for gender informed residential treatment. Both men and women experience a boutique recovery experience, joining a small group of clients for treatment that includes evidence-based therapies, life-skills training, holistic support and nutritious meal planning.
Following residential treatment, patients can enroll in partial hospitalization or “day treatment.” Day treatment maintains the intensity of groups, individual therapy and psychiatry of residential treatment but clients are able to spend in the night in their own homes or in a sober living home. Day treatment typically lasts for 1-4 weeks.
The next step in the continuum of care is intensive outpatient (IOP). At IOP level of care patients are re-engaging with work and/or school and continuing to attend group 3 days per week for 3 hours per group. Patients may continue seeing their individual therapist and psychiatrist as needed at IOP level of care. Intensive outpatient clients may live in their own home or in a sober living home. IOP typically lasts from 6-12 weeks.
The Outpatient level of care requires the smallest time commitment and is appropriate for clients who are secure in their recovery and working on maintenance of their recovery, provided only as a step down from one of our other levels of care. At the outpatient level of care, clients see their individual therapist, family therapist and psychiatrist as needed.
