"The staff are some of the most knowledgeable and welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. During the entire process of residential and IOP they gave myself and the other clients the utmost support and respect possible. The residential care facility and staff are among the best in the country and couldn't possibly offer a better experience or care. If you are struggling with addiction issues I would highly recommend the NorthStar facility and also their treatment team."

SUBSTANCE USE RISKS FACTORS AMONG PROFESSIONALS

While anyone who has a stressful, fast-paced career might turn to drugs or alcohol to cope with the pressure, a multi-year survey from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has identified certain professions that are more likely to develop a substance use disorder. Other industries on the list included healthcare, public administration, finance, transportation, and real estate, among others. The reason that some professions are at a higher risk of substance use vary, but most experts agree that the following factors play a role:

If you, a colleague, or someone you love is a professional struggling with substance use, we can help. We understand the unique challenges faced by individuals with demanding jobs who want to get sober, so we’ve developed a specialized program that helps you navigate these obstacles and develop the healthy coping skills you need to achieve lasting recovery.
