About

Kate Dowdy, MA, LPCC, RYT

Kate Dowdy (she/her) received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the Contemplative Psychotherapy and Buddhist Psychology program from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. She recently became an LPCC, is a Registered Yoga Teacher, and is currently pursuing her credential as a Licensed Addiction Counselor.

Inspired by her own mental health struggles, Kate is passionate about creating the conditions for healing in group spaces. Her background in trauma-sensitive yoga and experience facilitating support groups for folks who struggle with behavioral addiction inform her client-led and invitational approach to therapy. She utilizes eclectic modalities including Mindfulness-Based, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) orientations to meet clients where they are with warmth and support.

Outside of the office, Kate can be found snuggling with her cat Bug, crafting, reading, and practicing yoga.
